The charm of the California coastline has a way of working itself into being an iconic part of any session. Downtown Carmel, with its quaint streets and cozy corners, combined with the majestic, rugged Big Sur coast, offered the perfect backdrop for Karina & Alex’s engagement session.

Our evening began in the heart of downtown Carmel. The town itself, with its quaint shops, cobbled streets, and charming architecture, exudes an old-world charm that resonates with every couple in love. Karina, dressed in a darling white dress, held hands with Alex as we photographed in front of the Cypress Inn for a precious few minutes.

As the evening transitioned into night, we quickly moved to our second location off the coast of Big Sur. Known for its breathtaking cliffside views, Big Sur’s sheer magnificence is unparalleled. The deep blue of the Pacific Ocean crashing against the rugged cliffs provided a stark contrast to the soft, dreamy setting of downtown Carmel. Although it was overcast, I maintain that the coast looks magical in any weather and that evening was no exception. The cloud cover and chilly evening provided a calm and quiet tone for Karina & Alex’s photos- perfectly suited to show a deep and beautiful love.

Karina & Alex stood at the edge, holding each other tight. There’s something profoundly romantic about standing at the edge of the world with your loved one, staring into the vastness and contemplating a future together. With the fog rolling in and the winds tousling their hair, it was a beautiful end to their Carmel & Big Sur engagement session.
