Smiti & Ameay contacted me for their Big Sur engagement session back in the summer of 2020. With both of their busy schedules and long distance, there were only a few days overlapping where we could make this work and I’m so glad we were able to! Not only are they the sweetest couple, the day we chose ended up being beautiful. Big Sur is a place known for natural beauty and adventure, but it also has a lot of personality- especially with the weather. It was also an important location to them- Ameay had originally planned on proposing in Big Sur but with the pandemic, plans had to change. After they did get engaged in Minnesota, they still wanted a Big Sur engagement session and I knew we had to knock if out of the park! Smiti & Ameay hit the Big Sur wilderness with so much positive energy that they totally made my job easy and fun. We started along the cliffs with gorgeous light and ended the evening at a beautiful little beach with champagne and more laughter.

Being based in Monterey, I know this is a destination for many. Couples will come to the area from all over and even though they’ll be planning their wedding in a destination or in their hometowns, they still want Big Sur engagement photos. It’s been really fun to get to know couples this way and get to show them a little slice of this coast I love so much. Smiti & Ameay are getting married in Florida and already had vendors chosen so while I only photographed their engagement session, I’ll be excited to see photos from their wedding planned by Eventrics Weddings!
